Zhongkai Li is a New York-based artist. Li works with watercolor and natural pigments, using sewing, layering, and permeation to build sedimented surfaces where memories and sensations from different times and spaces converge. Through the fluid transformation of color, light, and form, Li’s practice explores making as a way of resisting time and the void of existence, opening paths toward an inner sense of order and the infinite.
