The Curtain Sconce is inspired by the daily ritual of drawing curtains, a response to the shifting time and light throughout the day. A strong brass body anchors a flowing pleated silk curtain below, while brass beads glide along a track to open and close it like an analogue dimmer.
Made with silk sourced in Florence, each piece is unique, with a patinated brass surface applied in brushstrokes that create depth and glow reminiscent of a Renaissance painting. Its colors draw from chiaroscuro, the Renaissance and Baroque technique of dramatic contrast between light and shadow.
