Cone Object 1 and 4 are at once sculptures, side tables, and holders for small-scale cups that nest into hollow cones carved into the burnished clay. These indentations punctuate the objects' surface as if they were dice, toying with a sense of both lightness and solidity. Further, Cone Object 4 may either be interacted with as a unified whole or as two halves. Upon closer observation, their geometric volumes – as elementary as building blocks – belie delicate traces of the maker's hands in the stoneware clay.
