tête-à-tête is a group exhibition unfolding across two sites, each an expression of Milan's distinctive architectural and urban history.

As part of Alcova in Franco Albini's Villa Pestarini, playinghouse’s display imagines a room’s past life as a study intended for private reflection and conversation, drawing its title from Francesco Rosati's two-seater table on display. Artworks and furniture with various materials, from eggshells to glass, encourage close observation and mirror the villa’s meticulous architectural details, altogether expanding upon playinghouse's conviction that playfulness can be synonymous with rigorous design.

This is highlighted in the second site in the Certosa District, where an array of sculptures and furniture made of rubber, plastic, and metal nods to the neighbourhood's industrial history and former steel plants. Showcasing over forty works by fifteen artists and designers, tête-à-tête stages manifold conversations – not just between visitors in a study, but between two facets of the city’s urban history, and the relationship between their past and present.
